CURRICULUM

DURATION OF COURSE AND SCHEME OF STUDIES​

The School has the scheme of general studies upto class X, all subjects being compulsory. The scheme of elective subjects is introduced from class XI. The subjects for studies upto class X are English, Hindi / Tamil / Sanskrit (subject to sufficient number opting for the language), Science, Mathematics and Social Science. The subjects for internal assessment for classes IX and X are Art Education, Work Experience, Physical and Health Education. Art, Work Experience, Moral Education and Music, which are taught in all classes. The medium of instruction in all classes is English for non-language subjects.

Weekly Working Days and Hours of Work : (Monday to Friday)

Classes I to V8:20 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. 7 periods daily for 5 days from Monday to Friday.
Classes VI to XII8.10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 8 periods daily for 5 days from Monday to Friday and on Saturday 8.10 a.m. to 2.40 p.m., 5 periods.
Second and fourth Saturdays of every month will be holidays.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES​

  • Physical Education, Work Experience, Drawing, Painting, Music and Moral Education form an integral part of the school curriculum.
  • In addition, to give ample opportunities to the children to develop leadership qualities and grow into balanced personalities, the prefectural and the House systems is a permanent feature.
  • Competitions like debate, quiz, essay writing, short-story writing, declamation, music, painting, dance etc. are conducted as part of House activities. Inter-House games and athletics form an integral part of the co-curricular activities. Club activities and hobbies are encouraged and conducted regularly.
  • The Students are encouraged and provided with opportunities to participate in Inter-School Competitions also.
